About Us

The team behind the hackathon

We host Binghamton University's annual hackathon, organizing, planning, and collaborating with various on campus and off campus partners. Between hackathons we run weekly workshops on campus, open to every major.

Experience isn’t necessary — many of our members started with little to no programming. Wanna help organize? Reach out to an organizer or shoot us an email.

Every week

Weekly workshops and events

Our main recurring event is our weekly workshop, held every Monday at 7:30 PM. We also have occasional special events on other days, sometimes in collaboration with other computer science groups on campus.

Each week we walk through building something hands-on — web development one week, mobile the next — covering tools like Python, PyTorch, HTML/CSS, and SQL. There’s no application and no dues, organizers are in the room the whole time, and no experience is required.

Calendar

Weekly workshops and special events live on the HackBU calendar. Times and locations may change — check here for the latest.

Senior organizers.

Organizers help out at workshops and run the hackathon. Reach out if you want to get involved — we’re a small student team and glad to hear from you.
